Turner Announces He will Wait

After a long and trying decision-making process, Asa Turner announced tonight that he will wait and sign his letter in February.

Turner spoke to Realdawg.com Friday night, stating that he wanted to let everyone know “out of respect” of what his plans were, but when the clock struck midnight, ending the signing period, it was obvious this was going to continue on.

If you’re a Husky fan, you have to feel good about the fact that Turner will be in Hawai’i after the first of the year spending a few days around several Husky commits at the Polynesian Bowl. Notre Dame is only fielding three commits at the bowl game.

Notre Dame reporters asserted earlier in the week that Turner was ready to flip and sign to the Irish, but that never happened and so Turner truly was very torn. Some even believed the letter he was going to sign at Carlsbad high school on Wednesday was from Notre Dame.

If so — why didn’t he sign it?

According to our sources, the Husky coaches were in touch with Turner on a continual basis during the days leading up and soon after signing day — they weren’t giving up on their once-committed safety.

So now, fans can relax.
