Tuesday Post-Practice Zoom: Junior Adams, Terrell Bynum, and Peyton Henry

It was back to the Zoom call today, as the Huskies completed their Tuesday practice session before select players and Junior Adams joined us for some Q&A.

Adams, who’s now entering his second year as the Husky receivers coach, addressed our question about an issue that he inherited when he came to Washington: Downfield blocking.

“It’s a daily mindset”, Adams explained, “We’re always trying to focus on that…first thing we did (at practice today) was two-man sleds just to keep their mindset going.”

Adams said he wants his receivers to be physical, “Not just up front but on the perimeter”, he said, “It’s up to me, as a coach, to start that fire everyday.”

Adams added that getting those blocks downfield is just as rewarding as scoring touchdowns for a receiver.

Other Notes:

** Adams said he’s pleased with the progression of the true freshmen, “They got right into the playbook — they’re really good dudes…I’m really pleased with how they’ve been picking up the playbook as freshmen.”

Here’s the complete video of today’s meeting, as well as Q&A with Terrell Bynum and Peyton Henry.
