PLAYER WHO STOOD OUT:

Terrell Bynum– He had a 50 yard td from Dylan Morris in 7 on 7 that was impressive. Where most of the wide receivers have struggled to get open down the field against the talented Husky DBs, Bynum has shown the ability to be a deep threat for the Huskies which should lead to more playing time in the fall.

Isaiah Gilchrist– He had a really good day including 2 interceptions and a touchdown. He also had a nice diving pass deflection. He was playing with the 1st team 3 weeks ago at the start of camp, has since moved to mostly second team but has really started to make big plays since the move. He is a guy who they play at nickel and both safety positions so he could see some playing time in the fall.

WHO WON THE DAY?

Defense– The live scrimmage portion of practice had a scoring system where the offense got points for touchdowns and field goals and the defense got points for turnovers, sacks, 4th down stops, and touchdowns. The defense won 38-21. The defense dominated most the day. Sacks, fumbles, and interceptions the defense was doing it all today. It all starts with the Dbs, they really don’t allow anything beyond 10 yards to be completed. Short crossing routes are there for completions but this defense hustles to the ball and tackles well. When the pass rush is on like it was today they are unstoppable.
