Earlier today news broke that former 5-star quarterback Sam Huard has decided to leave the Washington Huskies and enter the Transfer Portal.
A source close to the situation has been told that Huard will likely transfer to Cal Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California.
Former Washington State head coach Paul Wulff who was named Cal Poly’s head coach in December, hired Huard’s former coach at Kennedy Catholic, Sheldon Cross just six days ago.
Together Cross helped Hard set the state record for career passing yards in his final high school game, passing for 514 yards and eight touchdowns in a win over Kentwood. He finished his Lancer career with 13,214 yards and 153 career touchdowns.
At Washington he made only one start in the 2021 Apple Cup. He went 22-42 with 1 TD and 4 interceptions in 4 makes that season.
The 6-2, 193 signal-caller went 2 for 2 for 24 yards this past season.
An official announcement is expected soon.
