St. John Bosco defensive back, James Smith made it back up to Seattle over the weekend to see his Huskies up close on gameday. He and his family made the official trip and he came away more convinced than ever of his decision to join the pack.
“I’m 10000% committed”, Smith told Realdawg.com Sunday evening.
Smith committed back in late July after an unofficial trip to Seattle, but coming back with his father and his mother both was something special for the family, “My parents absolutely love it — the love all the coaches and people and I wouldn’t be surprised if they want to move there.”
Smith got into town Friday evening, and by that time the team was already at the hotel, so he juggled hosts, “For the first night I had Kamren Fabiculanan since he’s a redshirt and the players stay in the hotel”, Smith explained, “Then my second night I had Trent (McDuffie), which was great.”
It was basically old home week for St. John Bosco guys; UW is now home to alum Trent McDuffie, and USC is now home to alum Chris Steele.
“Trent is doing great”, he said of McDuffie, “I can’t wait for the coaching and development I’ll have.”
But there was a lot more to game day that stood out for Smith.
“The atmosphere was crazy”, he said, “It was packed and the fans there even knew me and my name and they showed a lot of love.”
Smith plans on signing in December.
