The Washington Huskies continued their recruiting hot streak with 4-star receiver Chris Lawson committing to the Dawgs. Lawson, from San Francisco, is the top-rated receiver of the four who have committed to UW in the 2025 class.
Size: Standing 6-1 and weighing 175 pounds, Lawson is an ideal size for a receiver who can effectively line up inside or outside.
Speed: Lawson had a fantastic feel for when to hit top speed–a 4.47 seconds in the 40-yard dash. When he hits his top gear he is nearly impossible to catch.
Strength: Where we see his strength in his tape is his ability to break tackles. His balance allows him to bounce off of would-be tacklers for chunk gains.
Fundamentals: Chris Lawson has a very good feel of the field. He has patience in the intermediate zones and can exploit the in-between coverages. He is excellent at mixing his speeds and explodes past defenders when they need to make the decision to flip their hips.
ScoutLook: Chris Lawson is a top prospect for a reason. He is the complete package when it comes to size, speed, and athletic ability. He separates himself as one of the best in the nation with his concentration deep downfield as he consistently reels in highly contested catches. He has the potential to be an extremely productive player who hears his name called early in the draft in a few years.
