The UW released this just moments ago:
Washington tailback Salvon Ahmed will forgo his remaining college eligibility and enter his name in the NFL Draft, head coach Jimmy Lake announced today.
As a junior in 2019, Ahmed became the ninth Husky in the last 10 years to rush for 1,000 or more yards, finishing the season with 1,020 yards and 11 rushing touchdowns on 188 carries. He also earned Academic All-District VIII, Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll and honorable mention All-Pac-12.
“I want to thank Salvon for all of the hard work he has put in, both on and off the field,” Coach Lake said. “He was a great example of what Husky Football is all about, and I’m sure that he’ll have plenty of success in the future.”
Ahmed came to the Huskies after a standout career as a running back and defensive back at Juanita High School in Kirkland, Wash. In his three season at the UW, he played in 39 of a possible 40 games, rushing for 2,016 yards and 21 touchdowns, while also notching 50 career receptions.
