The Washington Husky 2025 linebacker room has added its final piece with the addition of cross-state rival Taariq Al-Uqdah.
The newest addition was Washington State’s top tackler this season. Last week UW added UCF transfer linebacker Xe’ree Alexander well as former Arizona linebacker Jacob Manu.
He entered the Transfer Portal on December 18 but has yet to announce his decision to commit to Washington.
A quarterback’s nightmare, the red shirt sophomore led the Cougars with 76 tackles this season. He also had 5 tackles for loss, batted down 5 passes to go with his three interceptions, including a pick 6 to go with his 5 QB hits.
The 6-0, 232 defensive playmaker also forced 3 fumbles, recovered 4 fumbles.
In their second-to-last game of the regular season, Cougars quarterback John Mateer scored on a 4-yard run to tie the game at 31. On OSU’s next series, Al-Uqdah picked off BenGulbranson taking 26 yards for a touchdown. The TD put the WSU up 38-31. A game that the Cougars eventually lost on a 55-yard field goal with 20 seconds remaining.
Against his new team in the Apple Cup he had 6 stops.
He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
