The rumblings of Georgia quarterback transferring to Washington begin months ago. Former Washington quarterback Hugh Millen talked about the possibility of Eason transferring to Washington after Jake Fromm took over at starting QB for the injured Eason.
Today, Adam Jude of the Seattle Times is reporting that “barring a last-minute change of heart” Eason is expected to transfer to Washington and sit out a season.
Jacob Eason is a former 5-star recruit out of Lake Stevens, Washington. Eason was in the running to go to UW until he eventually committed to Georgia.
As a freshman at Georgia, Eason passed for 2,430 yards, 16 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. Eason suffered a knee injury early in the 2017 season and since then, star true freshman QB Jake Fromm has started for Georgia.
If Jacob Eason were to transfer to Washington, there would likely be a very competitive QB competition in 2019 between Eason, Jacob Sirmon, and Colson Yankoff.
