Pac-12 Roundup: Week two Picks

Although it didn’t go smoothly in week one the Pac-12 is back. Two games were cancelled due to Covid. So far no games have been cancelled this week. Fingers crossed! Here are my week two picks.

Saturday

#20 USC (1-0) at Arizona (0-0) 12:30 p.m (FOX) Line: USC -14

USC shocked Arizona State 28-27 in the final seconds last weekend. The Trojans scored 14 points in the final 2:52 to beat the Sun Devils. Arizona did not play Utah last weekend due to Covid concerns. The Trojans win big as Arizona’s defensive struggles continue.

USC 42 Arizona 21

Colorado (1-0) at Stanford (0-1) 12:30 p.m. (ESPN) Line: Stanford -7

Stanford without starting quarterback Davis Mills lost to Oregon 35-14. Colorado beat UCLA 48-42 last Saturday. Without Mills Stanford was able to rush for 197 yards against Oregon despite the loss. With Mills back, Colorado won’t be ready for the step up in class.

Stanford 35 Colorado 27

#11 Oregon (1-0) at Washington State (1-0) 4 p.m. (FOX) Line: Oregon -10

Oregon made a few errors but were able to roll past Stanford 35-14. Nick Rolovich got his first win as Washington State’s head coach last weekend. WSU under true freshman QB Jayden de Laura beat Oregon State 38-28. This week presents a whole new challenge for the Cougars. Expect Oregon to clamp down on WSU as they continue their quest towards a Pac-12 Championship.

Oregon 38 Washington State 21

Utah (0-0) at UCLA (0-1)  7:30 p.m. (FOX) Line: Utah -3

The Bruins surrendered 264 yards rushing in a 48-42 loss at Colorado last weekend. It was a very disappointing result considering the rebuild that is happening in Boulder. The Utes did not play due to Covid concerns. Although Utah has been through a lot over the last few weeks, they come together this week. It’s alarming UCLA couldn’t stop the run last week and Utah will take advantage.

Utah 31 UCLA 27

California (0-0) at Arizona State (0-1) 7:30 p.m. (ESPN2) Line: Arizona State -4

After a heart breaking loss at USC the Sun Devils did prove that they can compete with anyone in this conference. California’s game against Washington was cancelled due to Covid. It’s hard to know who will be available to play for the Golden Bears with different protocols in place. With all the uncertainty surrounding California, ASU finds a way this time.

Arizona State 24 California 21
