Pac-12 Roundup: Week six Picks

Pac-12 Roundup: Week six Picks

It’s the last week of regular season conference play in the Pac-12. Washington leads the North Division. But things are up in the air after UW had to cancel their game against Oregon due to Covid issues. USC looks to be the best team in the conference as they lead the South Division. It’s rivalry week in the conference and we like the favorites this week.

Friday

Arizona State (0-2) at Arizona (0-4) 4 p.m. (ESPN) Line: Arizona State -11

After about a month in-between games due to Covid issues, the Sun Devils made too many mistakes in a 25-18 loss to UCLA last week. You can make a strong argument that Arizona State is the best 0-2 team in the country. Arizona meanwhile gave up 407 yards rushing in a 24-13 loss to Colorado. With a normal week of practice this is Arizona State’s game to lose. It’s a rivalry game but ASU is the better team and it will show on Friday night in Tuscon.

Saturday

Utah (1-2) at Colorado (4-0) 9 a.m. (FOX) Line: Colorado -1.5

Colorado continues to be the surprise of the conference. The Buffaloes are 4-0 under Karl Dorrell. Utah will be looking to get their second consecutive win after holding off a short-handed Beavers squad, 30-24. I’m starting to buy into this Colorado team. This should be an exciting rivalry game that is close for all 60 minutes. But something tells me the Buffs’ pull it out in the final minutes.

#15 USC (4-0) at UCLA (3-2) 4:30 p.m. (ABC) Line: USC -3

The Trojans finally looked like the team many thought they would look like in a 38-13 beat down of the Cougars. USC scored 28 unanswered points in the first quarter. Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown scored all four USC TD’s in the. quarter. UCLA held on in Tempe to beat Arizona State last weekend. The Bruins minus the turnover bug could easily be 5-0. The Trojans seem to be clicking at the right time and it shows this Saturday at the Rose Bowl.

USC 31 UCLA 23

California (1-3) at Washington State (1-2) 7:30 p.m. Line: Cal -2.5

The Golden Bears got their first win of the season after beating Oregon, 21-17. Despite just 271 yards of total offense, California won the turnover battle 2-0. Washington State’s offense has stalled out. In the last six quarters of football the Cougars have scored just 23 points. This game should be low scoring. But California seems to be heading in the right direction and they should continue their momentum into Saturday night in Pullman.

California 27 Washington State 21

Stanford (2-2) at Oregon State (2-3) 7:30 p.m. (ESPNU) Line: Stanford -3

Stanford’s upset over Washington was a big boost for the Cardinal as they continue to live in the Pacific Northwest after local health restrictions forced them out of their home grounds. Oregon State was without starting quarterback Tristan Gebbia and star running back Jermar Jefferson in their 30-24 loss at Utah. OSU won’t get back Gebbia back but Jefferson has been cleared to play. Expect Stanford to stack the box and make the Beavers beat them through the air. The Cardinal stay hot on the road.
