The Pac-12 is beginning to take shape after last week’s games. USC has clinched the south division, while the north division is down to three teams. If Washington State wins the Apple Cup, against Washington, they win the north. If Stanford beats California and Washington beats Washington State, Stanford wins the north. And if California beats Stanford and Washington beats WSU, the Huskies win the north.
Here are my week 12 picks……
My record: straight up- 58-19, against the spread- 37-32
Arizona State (5-5) at Oregon State (1-9) 12 p.m. (Pac-12 Networks) Line: Arizona State -7
The Sun Devils need one win to become bowl eligible. This game figures to be their best chance to get that win. Arizona State is coming off a 44-37 loss to UCLA. ASU’s defense continues to struggle, as they’ve given up an average of 40.6 points per game in their last three games.
Oregon State lost on the road last week, 49-28, at Arizona. The Beavers have played better at home but still have yet to win a conference game.
This game might be closer than people think but the Sun Devils get it done in the fourth quarter.
Arizona State 35 Oregon State 27
Arizona (7-3) at Oregon (5-5) 4 p.m. (Pac-12 Networks) Line: PK
It looks like Justin Herbert will be back at QB for the Oregon Ducks after recovering from a broken collarbone. Oregon was idle last week after suffering a 38-3 loss at Washington.
Arizona beat Oregon State 49-28 last Saturday. Quarterback, Khalil Tate, only needed to throw the ball seven times, as the Wildcats rushed for 602 yards. Tate rushed for 206 yards and two touchdowns.
Oregon gets an extra week to prepare for Khalil Tate. And Justin Herbert should be back.
Oregon 45 Arizona 42
California (5-5) at #22 Stanford (7-3) 5 p.m. (FOX) Line: Stanford -16
The 120th playing of the “Big Game” between Stanford and California, will be played in Palo Alto this year. The Cardinal lead the series, 62-46-11. Stanford is coming off a huge, 30-22, victory over then ranked No. 9 Washington. Stanford must win to keep their Pac-12 hopes alive.
Meanwhile, California’s coming off a bye week, after a 37-23 victory over Oregon State. The Golden Bears need one win to become bowl eligible.
The Golden Bears will fight hard but the Cardinal, behind Bryce Love, get the victory.
Stanford 30 California 24
UCLA (5-5) at #11 USC (9-2) 5 p.m. (ABC) Line: USC -16
USC continues to roll, as they defeated Colorado, 38-24, last week. They already have their ticket punched to the Pac-12 Championship. The Trojans are peaking at the right time.
UCLA, coming off a win against Arizona State, needs one win to become bowl eligible. Not getting to a bowl game would be an utter disaster for the Bruins.
The Bruins are 0-5 on the road this season and have lost four of those games by at least 17 points.
USC 49 UCLA 28
