Pac-12 Roundup: Week 11 picks

It’s week No. 11 in college football and things are starting to heat up in the Pac-12. Assuming Washington beats Oregon State at home next week, the North Division will be decided by the Apple Cup. In the South Division, Utah sits in firm control with a one game lead over USC and controlling the tiebreaker. Washington and Arizona have byes this week

Here are my week 11 Pac-12 picks……

UCLA (2-7) at Arizona State (5-4) 11 a.m. (Pac-12) Line: ASU -13.5

The Sun Devils, behind N’Keal Harry, blew out the Utes, 38-20, in a shocking result last week. Harry had 161 yards receiving and three touchdowns. ASU put up 536 yards of offense against the Utah’s stout defense.

The Bruins lost to Oregon, 42-21 last week. UCLA lost the turnover battle 3-0 killing any chance of a road upset.

Arizona State might have found something last Saturday. Look for the Sun Devils to become bowl eligible this week.

Arizona State 35 UCLA 20

#8 Washington State (8-1) at Colorado (5-4) 12:30 p.m. (ESPN) Line: WSU -6

The Cougars survived a scare against California last week at home. Ultimately, they won, scoring a late TD to secure a 19-13 victory. Washington State controls their own destiny in the Pac-12 and still has an outside chance at making the College Football Playoff.

The wheels have officially fallen off for a once 5-0 Colorado team. Colorado has lost four in-a-row after last week’s 42-34 loss at Arizona. The Buffaloes gave up 566 yards to Arizona in the tough loss.

Washington State is battled tested and they will survive a scare in Boulder.

Washington State 42 Colorado 35

Oregon (6-3) at Utah (6-3) 2:30 p.m. (Pac-12) Line: Utah -4

Utah’s 38-20 loss felt like a double loss after losing starting quarter back Tyler Huntley for the season with a broken collarbone. Jason Shelley replaced Huntley last week and completed 4-of-11 passes with an interception.

Oregon beat their former coach Chip Kelly and the Bruins 42-21 at home last week. The Ducks have lost their last two road games by a combined 43 points

Normally this would be a no brainier to pick Utah at home but with Tyler Huntley out I think the Ducks find a way to win.

Oregon 28 Utah 27

Oregon State (2-7) at Stanford (5-4) 6 p.m. (Pac-12) Line: Stanford -24

Stanford nearly overcame a 21-0 deficit at Washington but fell just short, losing 27-23 last Saturday. The Cardinal out-gained the Huskies 424-371 yards. If you would have told me Stanford would have four losses through nine games I would have called you crazy.

Oregon State lost 38-21 at home to USC last week. The Beavers defense once again struggled, allowing 509 yards to the Trojans.

All Stanford this Saturday.

Stanford 45 Oregon State 17

California (5-4) at USC (5-4) 7:30 p.m. (ESPN) Line: USC -5

The Trojans ran wild in Corvallis last week, rushing for 332 yards against Oregon State in a 38-21 win. This game is a must win game for USC as they continue to chase Utah in the South Division.

California is playing some of their best football of the season. The Golden Bears did lose 19-13 at Washington State last week but their defense has allowed a combined 29 points to the Washington schools the last two weeks.

USC wins in a close one as California’s offense struggles again.

USC 21 California 17
