OBSERVATIONS

After two weeks of spring camp the depth chart has started to take shape a bit. Certain position groups are more clear on who is ahead on the depth chart, (DBs, Oline) while other groups are very hard to tell( DT, WR, QB). 6 Dbs will rotate in with the first group and occasionally all play together. The first and second group of Oline have been pretty much set through out spring. Defensive tackle has six guys (Levi, Benning, Josiah, John Clark, Tuli, and Taimani) who all rotate in with the first group.

With Fuller, Jones, and Pounds not practicing there are a lot of reps up for grabs and they have been spread thru a lot of guys. The order of the Qb group is pretty clear besides who is going to start. Eason and Haener are clearly ahead of the rest, then Sirmon, Yankoff and Morris. Eason and Haener have been switching off days between the 1st and 2nd team.

PLAYERS WHO STOOD OUT:

TE Hunter Bryant- Hunter is a legit receiving matchup problem for defenses. They have been lining him up all over the field, in the slot, out wide and in two tight end sets. Cade Otton pretty much stays on the field with the 1st team at tigh tend awhile Bryant moves around to find a mismatch.

CB Dom Hampton-Dom was playing with the 1st team defense for the first time today. He looks like a big NFL corner and with him and Keith Taylor on the field at they will have the biggest corner combo in the NCAA.

PLAYERS TO WATCH FOR:

-RB Richard Newton

-S Brandon McKinney

WHO WON THE DAY?

Offense- The offense was able to move the ball at will between the 20s with short crossing routes. The defense was able to clamp down a bit once they were in the red zone but the offense was able to sneak in for a couple TDs while the defense was only able to force 1 turnover, an interception by Cam Williams.
