Monday Morning Recruiting: 6/3

Hard to believe it’s already June…and the first weekend of 2020 official visits is just a few days away.

So let’s review who we have confirmed is visiting this weekend:

RB Sam Adams Jr. (Eastside Catholic)
OL Roger Rosengarten (CO)
OL Myles Murao (CA)
TE Kole Taylor (CO)
DE Jake Shipley (CA)
TE Ben Yurosek (CA)
DB Jacobe Covington (AZ)
DE Cooper McDonald (TX)

Also, I talked with Geirean Hatchett last evening and it’s quite possible he could wind up heading over to Montlake as well this weekend, whether that’s on an official or non-official capacity is uncertain — but Hatchett is ready to announce “In the next two weeks” he said, and he also has plans to be at the Dirt Dawg camp and the barbecue on the 22nd.

As for the above-mentioned list, however, there could be changes to it before the weekend and I’ll have it all finalized by the end of the week.

I was asked a couple of times about Cali DE/OLB prospect, Jordan Banks — and while he did take the time to head up to Seattle and check the Huskies out, he seems to have slipped somewhat on the radar. Not because he wasn’t wanted by the Huskies, but because he may still be leaning to Alabama.

But one guy to continue to keep an eye on is Utah DE, Xavier Carlton. While there’s a strong pull (now that he’s back in his original home state of Utah) to go his parent’s alma mater, Utah, Carlton has continued to assert that Washington is right in this thing. His mother, Lorraine told me yesterday that they have continued to stay in close contact with Ikaika Malloe, and that they are definitely considering making a trip to Seattle on the 22nd.

In other news…

Junior Adams was part of the Forest Grove, Oregon camp over the weekend, and yesterday several of the coaches were on hand at the Azusa Pacific camp in California and the LaVerne College camp in California.

Ikaika Malloe and Keith Bhonapha are in Texas today for the Houston Huskies Elite Skills camp.

On Friday there will be Husky coaches at the Redlands camp again this year in California. There’s a couple more camps later in the month as well that the coaches will be a part of.

Now, the last topic I want to address is that of a punter in this class. I have heard from a very reliable source on this that the Huskies are in the hunt for a punter.

I know there’s a guy in Illinois and a guy from Alabama that have been on the radar, but last I heard the coaches had also scoured California and may even go the JC route again.

But rest assured, they are going after a punter (they have to). Washington also had a 2020 long snapper on campus last week by the name of Cameron Landes from Bellevue.

That’s about all for this first Monday in June…football season is just 89 days away!
