McMillan Talks about Decision to be a Husky

“I’m pumped”, Fresno, CA. 4-star Jalen McMillan told Realdawg.com this morning, “I actually committed over the weekend but wanted to just wait a couple days before I let it out.”

McMillan was flanked by his mother, father, and younger sister when he was in Seattle over the weekend, but he also spent some time hanging out with some future teammates.

“Sam (Huard) is like my brother”, he explained regarding the future Husky QB, “I went and spent the night at his house.”

Those pictures were captured on Instagram stories over the weekend by McMillan, and the subtleties of his social media posts were becoming apparent throughout the weekend — but it wasn’t until Coach Pete “woofed” this morning, and McMillan tweeted out the commitment that Husky fans were able to exhale.

McMillan had been rumored to be a Notre Dame lean at one point, but explained, “There’s USC, there’s Notre Dame, and all these schools have a good quarterback — but what gave Washington the edge is the guys on the team. I can vibe with all these guys.”

He had been an early lean to Washington, and throughout the process would always say “I love Washington”.

“I’m canceling all trips now”, he added, “I’ll probably be coming up when they play Cal (for an official visit to Washington).”

McMillan’s family is also very excited, “My mom got teary-eyed”, he said, and he added that his little sister is already hooked and is a Husky fan.

Without a doubt, Jalen McMillan is one of the best receivers in the country — period.

He has it all; length, speed, hips, hands…don’t kid yourself. He’s elite and this is a huge pickup for Washington. This is also a big feather in the camp of newly-hired receiver’s coach, Junior Adams.

“He’s my guy”, McMillan said.
