Local 2022 Receiver, Tobias Merriweather Offered by Washington

Union High School (Camas) wideout, Tobias Merriweather was offered by Washington today, and spoke to Realdawg.com about where Washington may stand going forward.

“”It was shocking…surprising”, Merriweather said, “This is a good one.”

Washington is the 10th offer from Merriweather, and he is thinking he might make an early decision, “I was thinking my junior year before the season”, he said.

While Merriweather is listed as an ATH in most network databases, his primary position is a receiver, “I think they just feel that I’m 6-5 and could put on weight and play tight end or somewhere on defense”, he said, but Washington definitely wants him on the field as a receiver.

Junior Adams loves tall and lengthy wideouts — Merriweather has a huge wingspan and is a DB nightmare. With that big catch radius, speed, and the fact that he’s played on defense and also at QB in his high school career, Merriweather knows the passing game inside and out.

This guy is a serious deep threat.

Last season for Camas he recorded 34 catches for 800 yards and seven touchdowns.

He’s also on FSP and his connection with Sam Huard will help Washington’s cause as well, “I’ve been there three times”, he said, “One unofficial and two times for games. I would like the whole hometown hero thing”.
