Listen to The Noah Dickerson Show: Sweep of the Oregon Schools

The Washington Huskies snapped their four game losing streak with a sweep of the schools directly south.

Washington essentially ended the tournament hopes for Oregon when they pulled off the overtime win with a game winning layup from Jamal Bey to put the Dawgs up 72-71. The star of the show Wednesday night was Keyon Menifield with 27 points and 7 assists in the win.

The Ducks fall to 6th in the conference at 9-8 and will be watching the NIT bracket with the Huskies barring a deep run in the conference tournament in early March.

The Dawgs then took care of the Beavers on Saturday. They controlled the game from tip to the final horn.

Washington finds themselves in a similar spot heading into the final contests of the year. Firmly in the 3rd tier of the conference. They can handle the bottom 4th of the conference and can compete with the middle of the pack. The best they can do the rest of the season is play spoiler for the top programs in the conference.

Their stars, streaky offensive style, and shot blocking ability can instill fear into the top programs in the conference. Their style does not seem to be sustainable for a tournament. Eventually the stagnation off the ball catches up with a Hopkins led program and they will have a let down.

Washington has a chance to move up in the standings with the Northern California schools coming to twon followed by the Cougs coming west for a Apple Cup rematch.

Washington could very well go 3-0 and finish at 10-10 in conference play. The question will be around their ability to advance in Vegas.

Noah Dickerson breaks down what the Huskies did to take it to the Oregon schools, then talks about road trips late in the year from a player perspective.
