Listen: Making Sense of the ASU Loss

The Washington Huskies were gashed for their second straight loss on Saturday in Tempe at the hands of the Sun Devils to the tune of 45-38.

They Huskies continued their cold streak in the desert by being winless in Tempe since 2001.

Washington’s defense was shredded by backup quarterback Trenton Bourguet who went 15-21 for 182 yards and three touchdowns.

The defense really struggled in 3rd down situations surrendering 70% conversions for a first down.

The offense wasn’t necessarily in sync for parts of the game but Michael Penix again surpassed the 300 yard mark and the offense was able to put up 38 points.

Many questions loom around the decision early in the third quarter when the Dawgs went for it on 4th down deep in their own territory on a Rome Odunze sweep.

Kalia Olin, UW Leah, and Trevor Mueller discuss what can be done by the coaching staff to make the defense mo0re successful going forward.

Kaila also takes some time to discuss the targeting call on Asa Turner and the justification of the targeting ejection.
