The Washington Huskies went into East Lansing on a mission in their first power 5 matchup of the season.
Nobody said it, but this was a business trip..
Their mission was to back up their top-10 ranking with a win on the road in the heart of the Big 10 footprint at Michigan State. From the first series Washington dominated every facet of the game against the beleaguered Spartans scoring touchdowns on three of the first four series of the game.
The defense rose to the occasion against a formidible running game by stuffing every attempt and only allowing 2 yards a carry on the day.
Every position group shined on Saturday evening as the Huskies got to Noah Kim for sacks, hurries, and another interception.
The offense was on another level and Michael Penix was on fire. Jalen McMillan was only six yards away from a 100 yard game, but came up just short because of a scary knee injury that looked worse than it did, but was kept out of the second half as a precaution. Odunze and Polk both eclipsed 100 yard with Odunze gaining an eye-popping 180 yards.
