The eyes of the nation were squarely fixed on the Washington campus on Saturday. Beginning at 6 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon, the Washington Huskies showed why they are one of the premier programs in America and not just the West Coast,
ESPN’s Gameday started the festivities in the wee hours of the morning with students lining up long before the red “ON AIR” sign was illuminated. With the 12:30 kickoff against the Oregon Ducks. Half an hour before kickoff the stadium was packed with 90+% purple.
The fans were beyond loud from the opening kickoff until well after Oregon’s kicker pushed the game-tying field goal inches right of the uprights.
When the fans rushed the field the scoreboard read 36-33 in favor of the Huskies as the party started.
This game was filled with ups and downs as both teams threw haymakers in the top-10 matchup lived up to expectation.
