The Washington Huskies dismantled the Colorado Buffaloes 54-7 on senior night.
While the game itself was out of reach relatively quickly, Washington put on a show to send their seniors off with a perfect 7-0 home schedule.
First year head coach Kalen DeBoer has eclipsed all other first year coaches earning nine wins. He still has at least two more games to further his impressive first chapter in the Husky program.
Michael Penix and the offense did not have the explosive day through the air like most are used to seeing but rather relied on the running game to deflate the Colorado defense.
The Buffaloes tried to limit the passing attack by dropping as many as eight into coverage to try and stop the explosive plays, so Ryan Grubb and the offense took what was available. Wayne Taulapapa and Cameron Davis were extremally effective all night, both scoring two running touchdowns each.
The Huskies jumped up in the AP poll to #12 in the country and still having an outside shot of getting into the Pac-12 Championship game against USC, but more importantly has a shot at getting a coveted Ney Years Six bowl game.
