Instant Reaction: Washington Secures Pledge from “Walking Basket”

What a day for Husky Hoops. 5-star guard Zoom Diallo announced his commitment to the University of Washington. Currently attending Prolific Prep in California, the 6-4 point guard spent his first three seasons at Curtis High School in Tacoma, Washington.

As a Viking, Diallo won two 4A state championships in two years. Last season he averaged 20 points per game as Curtis went 28-3 winning the state championship.

Diallo left Curtis to attend Prolific Prep in California, stepping up to the highest level of high school basketball.

When he gets to campus Diallo will be asked to fill a big role for the Huskies. With Keion Brooks graduating, Diallo will immediately be the face of the program.

With a very new roster next season, and hopefully coming off a tournament appearance, coach Mike Hopkins will be asking a lot from Diallo.

But this shouldn’t be too much for the 7th highest ranking commit in Husky history. Diallo has excelled everywhere he has played. ESPN’s Paul Biancardi described Diallo as: “A walking basket thanks to his outstanding shot mechanics and touch from different spots on the floor. His ability to find an open pocket of space and stop in a split-second to elevate into his pull-up jumper is advanced.”

Diallo is a complete guard but also a physical menace. His 6-4 190-pound frame allows him to control the game in the half court.

Husky fans should be ecstatic about this pick-up as Diallo is one of the most electric recruits in Husky history.

RealDawg will keep the updates coming as the Huskies have their guy.
