With the commitment of 4-star receiver Rashid Williams to Washington Thursday morning, it sent a clear message that Washington is back in the recruiting game. According to 247Sports.com the Pittsburg, California receiver is top 25 at his position in the country. After not being included in his quarterback’s top 6 earlier this week, this is the shot in the arm that Washington needed.

“The class of 2023 is a light year on receivers on the west coast,” said RealDawg.com’s Roman Tomashoff. “There are 5 receivers west of the Rocky Mountains, so to pull the final uncommitted receiver says a lot out the new staff’s ability to close on top talent.”
On May 10th, Williams announced that his finalists were Washington, Cal, Arizona, Stanford, Oregon State, and Mississippi State, cutting out Oregon, Miami, Arizona State and Ole Miss, among others.
“Another good sign was of the staff’s ability to go toe-to-toe with other teams was when Sekai Afoa-Asoau received an offer from USC,” Tomashoff said. “He flirted with it but Washington closed him out.”
Earlier this week, on Tuesday, the Huskies also picked up a pledge from UCF linebacker Kris Moll.
“It might not seem like Moll was a big pickup, but they got a Florida-native to decommit from a Florida school and move 2500 miles away to Seattle,” Tomashoff said. “That a big sign that the school’s message to recruits is already making an impact.”
