Impact Statement: Does Keinholz Round Out Washington’s Offensive Unit?

The addition of South Dakota signal-caller Lincoln Keinholz gives a better picture of the type of offense that the new Washington staff under Kalen DeBoer will be going forward.  In many instances the size and weight are similar to what is already on campus with the exception of running back commit Tybo Rogers.

Will Keinholz be the final piece to the puzzle? Washington is in line for one or two more receivers, a tight end, and possibly one more offensive lineman.  However, the Huskies have pledges from offensive linemen who fit their scheme.

Quarterback:

The Huskies went off of the beaten path to find a very talent QB in South Dakota, in Keinholz.  After missing out on in-state Gabarri Johnson and being in the final 3 for Kansas State-lean Avery Johnson, the Huskies have a dual-threat QB that’s a true pocket passer.  He will make things happen with his feet but has the vision, arm, and size to stand and deliver in the pocket.

  • 3-star QB Lincoln Keinholz, 6-3, 185

Running Back:

Rogers is in the mold of a versatile running back.  He can lineup in the slot, he can run between tackles.  He appeared to be the one back that Washington wanted.  Rogers has great speed and can hit his top gear in a hurry, but can also be a deep ball threat in the slot or on a wheel route.

  • 3-star RB Tybo Rogers, 5-11, 180

Receiver:

Rashid Williams is another big receiver in the mold of Jalen McMillan.  The Pittsburg, California pass-catcher will fit nicely into the receiver room when he steps onto campus. His frame and fundamentals will rival those already on campus. His versatility and willingness to block will help him compete as an underclassmen.

  • 4-star WR Rashid Williams, 6-2, 185

Tight End:  The Huskies have a couple of tight ends who have the Huskies high on their list, with Mesa, Arizona’s 4-star Jackson Bowers high on the list.

Offensive Line:

The offensive line is filled with promising talent.  Hatchett is the highest profile commit of the three but with Jackett and Hatchett the Washington reeled in their two number one targets on their board.  In Henning, RealDawg.com’s lead scout Trevor Mueller sees a lot of former Morris Trophy and first-round draft pick Kaleb McGary in him.

  • 3-star OT Zachary Henning 6-6, 275
  • 3-star IOL Landen Hatchett 6-3, 295
  • 3-star OT Elishah Jackett 6-7, 280
