Husky Coaches talk about Returning to the Field

Realdawg.com reached out to several Husky assistant coaches today to get their thoughts on the team returning to action.

As Jimmy Lake said yesterday, the team will begin practice next week, and while the fans aren’t allowed to attend games, the excitement in the air is contagious right now.

Here’s what these coaches told Realdawg.com:

Ikaika Malloe: “(I’m) excited about it. We have protocols to help prevent as much as possible as well deal with it if there is a positive test.”

Derham Cato: “Just excited to get back and working with the team towards an opportunity to compete. (I am) happy for the players to be able to play this fall and feel some sort of normalcy.”

Pete Kwaitkowski: “Fired up to get back to coaching these dudes…Excited to see what the development of Laiatu, Zion, Bralen, and to see what Sav’ell can do.”

Keith Bhonapha: “I think it’s great…I feel like the Pac-12 took the necessary steps to insure the players are safe when we move forward.”

Will Harris: “We are excited…just talked to the DB’s (and said) ‘stay ready…don’t have to get ready.'”

Terrance Brown: “I’m excited for these young men to get an opportunity to play. I know they have been itching to get back out there…I’m glad that they have been extremely diligent in finding a way to keep everybody safe.”

John Donovan: “Obviously, very excited. Couldn’t be happier for the players. They have their tails off, and they want to go out there and compete have some fun.”

Bob Gregory: “Let’s go…we are really excited to get going.”

Junior Adams: “It’s about the student athlete”.

Scott Huff: “RTL…Ride the Lightening…I’m excited.” (referencing a song by Metallica)
