The Huskies picked up a signature today from former Sacramento State quarterback, Kevin Thomson.
Thomson, who’s a dual-threat signal caller, announced on Twitter that he had signed with Washington:

Kevin Thomson, a quarterback from Auburn, Wash., has signed an aid agreement and will join the University of Washington football program for the 2020 season, head coach Jimmy Lake announced today.
Thomson, who prepped at Auburn Riverside and originally attended UNLV out of high school, comes to the UW after spending the last three seasons at Sacramento State, where he was an NCAA-FCS All-American and Big Sky Offensive Player of the Year last fall. He finished in a tie for third place for the 2019 Walter Payton Award, given to the nation’s top FCS offensive player, and was also a three-time Academic All-Big Sky selection.
As a graduate transfer, Thompson will be immediately eligible to play at Washington, with one year of eligibility remaining.
“We’re really pleased that Kevin is returning to play for his hometown school,” Lake said. “He adds a lot of experience to our quarterbacks room and should help raise the level of competition for everyone.”
Last year, Thomson completed 265 of 450 passes for 3,216 yards and 27 touchdowns, with just eight interceptions. He also rushed for 619 yards and a team-best 12 rushing TDs. The Hornets finished 9-4 overall and 7-1 in the Big Sky last fall, earning a share of the conference title and a berth in the NCAA FCS playoffs, the first in the program’s history.
Among his highlights in 2019, Thomson performed well against two FBS opponents. He threw for 233 yards and three touchdowns at Fresno State, and was 32-for-50 for 263 yards and a score at Arizona State.
Additionally last year, Thomson passed for 361 yards and five TDs in a win over Northern Colorado. And, in a three-week stretch against ranked, Big Sky opponents (No. 22 Eastern Washington, No. 6 Montana State and No. 5 Montana), Thompson led the Hornets to three victories, throwing for 944 yards and 10 touchdowns in total.
As a sophomore in 2017, he was 97-for-175 for 1,828 yards, 17 TDs and three interceptions while in 2018, he went 79-for-145 for 1,380 yards, eight touchdowns and just one pick, playing in only seven games.
Thompson spent two years at UNLV. He was granted additional eligibility by the NCAA due to a major injury, which means he has one season remaining.
