Realdawg.com has been reporting for awhile on the Huskies’ interest in Utah wideout, Puka Nacua. Tonight, they extended an offer to the 6-2, 190 lb. prospect.
We have been covering Nacua for several months, and he’s a real baller.
He was first spotted by Ikaika Malloe who then brought Matt Lubick on board, and the process began. He had planned to be in Seattle in June for the Rising Stars camp, but the Huskies sent the offer out tonight.
Last season for Orem High School, Nacua recorded 1600 yards on 87 receptions and 24 touchdowns. He’s a very quick receiver who runs crisp routes and is able to break tackles and get the yards after catch. His burst up-field is good and he could even be considered a deep threat.
Nacua is one of six siblings — raised alone by his mother since his father passed away when he was a young boy — but football is in the bloodstream for this family.
“My brother Kai played for BYU and plays for the Cleveland Browns now”, Nacua explained, adding that his other older brother, Samson plays wide receiver for Utah. Another brother, Isaiah also signed with BYU and is currently on an LDS mission. So football is definitely something that runs in the family.
