Despite missing Washington’s last four games with a leg injury suffered in UW’s 44-23 win over UCLA on October 28, tight end Hunter Bryant was named to ESPN’s Freshman All-American team.
The 6-foot-2, 239-pound star, caught 22 passes for 331 yards and one touchdown in eight games. As the season continued to pick up steam, Bryant quickly became Jake Browning’s No. 2 go-to guy after injuries depleted UW’s wide receivers. Hunter Bryant averaged an impressive 15.0 yards per catch.
Initially, Hunter Bryant was expected to be out for the year with a leg injury but further testing proved that the injury wasn’t as serious as first thought. Bryant could be back on December 30th, when No. 11 Washington faces No. 9 Penn State, in the Fiesta Bowl.
