Chris Petersen met with reporters on Sunday afternoon to talk about the matchup with Boise State in the Las Vegas Bowl.
The biggest news of the presser came when Petersen said that tight end Hunter Bryant and starting left tackle Trey Adams would not play in the game. Bryant declared for the NFL earlier in the week.
“No he’s not going to play,” Petersen told reporters when asked about Bryant playing in the bowl game.”Trey Adams is not going to play either.”
When asked if it was due to getting ready for the NFL, Petersen said “yeah it’s all that.”
Hunter Bryant, a top tight end in the nation, caught 52 passes for 825 yards, and three touchdowns.
Trey Adams was a preseason All-American at left tackle.
But the Huskies did get some good news when Petersen said that quarterback Jacob Eason will play. And he also said that starting right guard Jaxson Kirkland could return after missing the Apple Cup due to injury.
The Huskies face Boise State on December 21 in the Las Vegas Bowl.
