The Huskies had a 2020 unofficial visitor today, and Hawai’i (St. Louis) OLB/DE Jordan Botelho walked away with an offer.
“I feel truly blessed”, the 6-3, 225 lb. prospect told Realdawg.com, “It’s an amazing feeling.”
Botelho is being recruited for the BUCK position, and while he’s still a year away from the biggest recruiting push, he’s already reeled in eight offers. The Huskies were smart to get their foot in the door early on.
“I had a great time talking with Coach Petersen and Coach Malloe”, he said, “The highlight was just Coach Petersen taking the time to sit down and talk with me…it showed me how much he cares.”
Botelho was accompanied by his mother and sister on the trip, and tomorrow he will head over to Eugene to check out Oregon, and will return back to Seattle until Monday.
“I just want to look around again, and have a good time with my family”, Botelho said.
The skinny on this prospect is that he’s a fierce competitor who plays physical, has a good motor, and just a real solid nose for the ball. He’s still growing too.
One thing that really impressed Botelho was the facilities at Washington, “They have top of the line athletic facilities”, he said.
Right now Botelho and his family will leave the mainland on Monday, and he said he hopes to get back later in the summer to go check out Georgoa. He’s also “on the radar” of the Polynesian Bowl.
