Washington Husky All-American edge rusher Bralen Trice’s had the game of his life against the Stanford Cardinal. Pro Football Focus charted 16 times he was able to pressure Stanford QB Ashton Daniels–coming away with one sack. That number is tops in the country this year. Four times he also forced Daniels to throw early.

The Bronko Nagurski Trophy-candidate’s effort and impact on the game nothing new to one NFL scout, “Trice has thrived in Washington’s aggressive defense under DeBoer. He’s been unrelenting all year long. Just like last year. His motor is impressive.”
While “motor” doesn’t always show up in terms of sacks, but he is making life miserable for a lot of QBs.
Other scouts have noticed, as well, moving the 6-4 and 274-pound into the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, slotting him between the 25th and 32nd pick overall.
Last season as a 4th year junior he led the country in QB pressures and led UW with 9 sacks which was 3rd in the Pac-12 Conference. He decided to return to UW to help with the push for a national championship.
A preseason All-American by virtually every publication, this season Trice has continually condensed the amount of time most quarterbacks have to throw and it’s produced 9 interceptions, and at least a half-a-dozen dropped interceptions.
“Teams are scheming away from him by rolling away from him if he’s blocked by just one player or they’re doubling up on him,” the scout said.
And sometimes just flat-out holding him although it’s only been called a few times.
“Washington’s style of defense is aggressive. They rely heavily upon pressuring quarterbacks into bad decisions,” the scout said. “Because of that teams are content to take a series of smaller chunks rather than stand in the pocket with Trice bearing down on them.”
