In this week’s installment of the Class of 2019 Friday Focus, we get to know 4-star Husky linebacker signee, Daniel Heimuli of Menlo-Atherton High School in Menlo-Park, California.
So here’s the Q & A from the recent discussion we had with Heimuli about his present, future, and favorites.
Q: What have you been up to since you signed your letter back in February?
A: “Just working out…the workout (that UW sent his trainer) is all pretty much the same as what I’ve been doing but just more reps.”
Q: What’s your exact height and weight right now? And do have any specific target weight for when you arrive for fall camp?
A: “I’m 6-1, 225…I don’t really have any ideal weight I want to get to. I haven’t given that a lot of thought. I’m going to playing inside, I know that.”
Q: Will you be going up to watch any spring ball?
A: “I think I’ll be up for sure…Noa and I will be going up together. I don’t know when, exactly, but I know we’re going for sure.”
Q: During the process, when did you finally know in your heart you wanted to go to Washington?
A: “I think it was my official visit. I always had that feeling since my junior year but going on the official trip kind of helped me make my mind up.”
Q: How did it feel when you finally signed that letter?
A: “It felt good to get everything done and get it off my chest…I felt relieved.”
Q: What are some of your own personal goals for your football career at Washington, going in?
A: “I want to play early — but I just want to get more physical and I hope to play right away.
Q: Have you been keeping in touch with the other guys who will be playing linebacker?
A: “Yes, I talk to Fonzo and Miki — we’re ready for it, we’re ready to play.”
Q: Do you believe, in your heart of hearts, that you can win a national title at Washington?
A: “No doubt. I definitely believe we can do it.”
