If you’re looking for speed, athleticism, more speed, more athleticism, and a guy who can take it to the house at any moment, look no further than Central East High School wideout, Xavier Worthy.
The 6-1, 165 lb. receiver is definitely a guy who’s stock could completely catch fire in the months ahead.
He’s fast (10.55 100 time), and last season he recorded 1108 yards and 17 touchdowns for Central in deep threat fashion, but he’s also ridiculously elusive in getting off blocks, zig-zagging across the middle, and into the open field.
After that, it’s bye bye.
“I feel like I’m a deep threat”, Worthy told Realdawg.com this week, “I can get the deep ball but I feel like it’s my speed that’s my biggest strength.”
While Worthy hasn’t run the 40 since his freshman year, it was still a 4.4 back then, and given his 100 time — that 40 has to have improved (not that it needs any improvement).
So what does this have to do with Washington?
Worthy holds 12 offers, the latest being from Michigan, and the Huskies have begun to get involved on a serious level, “I talked to Coach Adams and he said they’re going to start recruiting me pretty heavy”, Worthy said, “I’m definitely interested in Washington.”
Worthy said that interest goes back to even before he began hearing from the Huskies, “I like the way they do things”, he said.
Right now Worthy has no plans for any combines, and doesn’t even have a ranking yet — but given his speed, his athleticism, and the fact that watching him is like watching a young Tyreek Hill with the size of De’Shaun Jackson, you have to believe this kid is a candidate for four stars.
And one connection that Worthy already has to Washington is that he is friends with new Husky, Jalen McMillan.
Watch this video — it’s ridiculous. This kid is something special — and I expect to see his stock rise again soon.
