Former Washington guard Dejounte Murray has been traded to the Atlanta Hawks in one of the biggest trades this off-season. Murray was traded from San Antonio to Atlanta for Danilo Gallinari and three first round draft picks.
Murray, just 25 years old, averaged 21.1 points. 9.2 assists, and 8.3 rebounds last season. The 6-foot-4 point guard was named to the All-star team.
At Washington, Dejounte was an All-conference player – averaging 15.8 points and 6.2 rebounds in his lone season at Washington. Murray was selected 29th overall in the 2016 NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs.
Murray will joining All-star guard Trae Young in what should be one of the best backcourts in all of basketball.
The former Washington great said his goodbyes to the Spurs via Twitter.
