After his visit to Washington in the summer of June last year, Lyons appeared to be choosing between Washington and Notre Dame before the trail went cold. However, late in process he included the Huskies in his top 8 along with Miami, Oregon, Notre Dame, Penn State, Michigan State, ASU, and Utah. At that time he was projected by many to land in South Bend—and was rumored to be a silent commit to the Fighting Irish.
Finally, just over a year ago he announced his commitment to the Huskies. Running track his senior season, Lyons did not enroll until this past summer.
He saw very limited action this season, appearing in two games. His drop led to the ball being intercepted by a defender near the goal line.
In Washington’s third game of the season this year, Lyons had a pass from Dylan Morris ricochet off his hands, and into the hands of a Michigan State defender.
He did not see the field again.
Playing in only two games, at his new school Lyons will have four years of eligibility.
He becomes just the 3rd Washington player to enter the portal, joining Dylan Morris and defensive back Vincent Nunley.
