As RealDawg.com reported earlier this week, there would be one player who would leave the Washington Football team before the start of the season.
At the Pac-12 Media Day in Las Vegas, Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer announced that 4-star receiver Jabez Tinae has left the team, presumably as a medical retiree.
Tinae struggled with a nagging injury that prevented him from seeing the field. During Spring Football he was present but unable to participate.
If the path is to medically retire but retain his financial assistance from the university, he would have had to clear several hurdles, the last of which is simply his period of time of inactivity from being physically unable to perform.
In high school south of Seattle at Burien‘s Kennedy Catholic High School, he and Lonyatta Alexander Jr. were part of Sam Huard‘s record setting career. All three have left the program since the end of the 2022 season.
At KC he caught 163 catches, including 28 for TDs and a total of 3,463 yards.
His departure still leaves Washington with one of the deepest receiving rooms in the country, led by All-American candidates Rome Odunze and Jalen McMillan.
