Football Announces Home-And-Home Series With Michigan State

SEATTLE – The University of Washington football program has announced a home-and-home series with Michigan State University. The Spartans will come to Seattle for a contest at Husky Stadium in 2028 before the UW will travel to East Lansing in 2031.

“We are excited about scheduling two games with Michigan State,” said Director of Athletics, Jennifer Cohen. “It is important for us to create incredible experiences for our student-athletes, coaches and fans, and we believe playing a high-caliber, non-conference opponent like Michigan State provides those opportunities.”

The Huskies and Spartans have met just three times, with the most recent contest being the 1997 Aloha Bowl in Honolulu in which the UW defeated Michigan State, 51-23. The series – which the Huskies lead 2-1 – dates back to 1969.

The announcement comes after the Huskies have previously scheduled MSU’s in-state rival, Michigan for a home-and-home beginning in 2020.

More specifics on the games will be released at a later time.
