Colorado 4-Star TE Breaks Down Interest in Washington

Late in March Colorado 4-star tight end, Terrance Ferguson dropped his top 10 on Twitter. Now, he explains why Washington made the cut and what he’s seeing from the Huskies.

“It’s the way they use their tight ends”, the 6-6, 230 lb. prospect from Heritage High School in Littleton, Colorado told Realdawg.com this week, “They’ve produced multiple tight ends in the draft.”

Another reason for the Huskies making the cut is the tight end coach, himself, Durham Cato.

“We have a real good relationship”, Ferguson said, “He’s done a great job of reaching out and really making an effort to get to know more about me and he’s also talked to me about how they use their tight ends.”

On the field, Ferguson is the quintessential tight end who can go across the middle, is good on the hoof, and has excellent hands. He does create mismatches and attacks well with his hands and body control. He’s dependable in-line or going wide.

Because he’s played a lot of basketball his ball skills are where they need to be and he’s getting stronger at blocking.

Last season for Heritage Ferguson recorded 929 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.

Right now he wants to get up to Washington, but with the COVID-19 issues going on it’s a question of “when?”

“I’m trying”, Ferguson said, “I planned to make my decision before the season but with everything going on, it just depends.”

Washington joins Penn State, Oregon, Auburn, Ohio State, Wisconsin, ASU, USC, Texas A&M, and Texas in Ferguson’s Top 10.

Right now he’s working out and staying in shape despite the fact that he’s not in school.
