On Twitter Tuesday Chandler, Arizona quarterback Demon Williams, Jr. announced the top 10 schools he’s considering, eliminating the Washington Huskies, although Williams says that his “recruitment is 100% open”. Six of the 4-star signal caller’s top 10 are from the Pac-12 Conference including both Arizona schools, Utah, Oregon, UCLA, and Cal. Arkansas, Virginia Tech, Old Miss, and Michigan State rounded out his schools of choice.
Williams, coming off the first loss of the season 35-7 to Peoria’s Liberty High School after a 5-0 start, was offered by Washington offensive coordinator a month after joining Kalen DeBoer at Washington.
The Huskies have sent out 7 other quarterback offers, including Seattle-prospect EJ Caminong. In fact, by eliminating the Huskies, Williams may have sent out a signal that the Garfield High School signal-caller is thought to be heavily leaning toward the Huskies, is more fact than rumor.
Caminong’s star has risen this season as he’s led the Bulldogs to a 5-1 record including knocking off last season’s 4A state runner-up Lake Stevens in their season-opener 26-16. During the 5-0 start, Caminong’s offense averaged 46 points a game. At 6-2 and 195 pounds, his size and style of play seem well-suited for Washington’s high-powered offense under DeBoer.
Also holding offers from the Huskies, and rated ahead of Caminong, are 4-star Elijah Brown of the nation’s number 1 team Mater Dei in Santa Ana, California, and 4-star Long Beach QB Myles Jackson.
