Class of 2024: Washington Commit Working on Recruiting/Building Class

On his unofficial visit to the University of Washington for the Huskies’ nationally televised game against Michigan State, Landon Bell headed \he let Husky receiver coach JaMarcus Shephard know that he wanted to be a Husky.

Although he kept the news quiet for a day, he immediately began working on building up his 2024 recruiting class.  His first contact was pretty easy as they were practically rubbing elbows on the flight back to Las Vegas.

“Isaiah Ruben and I flew up to the game together,” he said.  “I was telling him on the flight back home that he needs to be a dawg.”

Ruben is a 4-star defensive back from another Las Vegas-area high school, Desert Pines.  The 6-1, 170-pounder picked up his offer from the Huskies a month after DeBoer moved to Montlake.  Washington’s offer was his second Power 5 offer coming after Utah.

Over the years Bell and Ruben had a lot of contact on the football field, as well.

“We’ve battled many times,” Bell said.  “We push each other pretty hard and make each other better.”

As the first commit of the 2024 class, he began speaking with other Husky targets, as well.

“I plan on helping the coaches any way possible to help with recruiting,” he said.

And Husky Stadium got an assist in the Patriots’ receiver.

“It was an incredible atmosphere inside Husky Stadium,” Bell said of his unofficial visit.  “I can’t wait to catch touchdown passes in front of the students in the end zone.”
