Cali Tailback Hoping to Get to Seattle “Soon”

San Diego, CA. (St. Augustine) 2021 tailback, Byron Cardwell  was offered by Washington back in September, and he wanted to get up to Seattle for an unofficial during the season, but wasn’t able to get that done.

Now, he’s still planning that excursion to the Pacific Northwest, it’s just a matter of when.

“It’s still up in the air”, the 6-0, 200 lb. tailback told Realdawg.com this week, “I plan to soon but I have to talk to my family.”

No worries; Washington is still very high on Cardwell’s list going into the spring, “I talked to KB this week”, he explained, “We’re still keeping in touch every week.. He just talks to me about asks about how school’s going and we talk a little bit about football.”

This past season Cardwell inked 850 yards rushing with 25 touchdowns, while also adding a pick-six on defense and 5 tackles.

Cardwell is a very fearless and physical running back who has excellent vision and cut-back ability. He’s is an overall back who makes guys miss, and can go inside or outside with the 4.47 speed to take it to the house.

His football IQ is above-average for just a junior, and he’s able to read defenses and exploit their tendencies.

Don’t let those three stars fool you; he’s a very sturdy and promising tailback at the next level. And it wouldn’t be the first time the networks got it wrong with their rankings.

Remember three-star tailback, Myles Gaskin? Or how about Richard Newton? If anyone has an eye for talent in a tailback it’s Keith Bhonapha.

“I plan to narrow down my list probably at the end of summer or right before the season”, Cardwell added.

He plans to run track this spring, and with 13 offers, it’s a safe bet that his stock will continue to rise.
