BREAKING: Washington Moves to No. 3 in Final Regular Season AP Poll

The Washington Huskies moved up one spot in the Associated Press’ final regular season poll.  They also moved to 12-0 for the second time in program history, with a dramatic Grady Gross field goal lifted them to 24-21 victory over the Washington State Cougars.

The Huskies began the season at number 10, moving to 8th where they sat for 3 weeks before dropping dominating California 59-32 in week 4.  The following to weeks the Huskies beat Arizona 31-24 in Tucson and No. 8 Oregon 36-33 at Husky Stadium before finally moving up 2 spots to 5th.

Over the next 5 weeks UW eeked out victories over Arizona State, Stanford, No. 20 USC on the road, No. 18 Utah at Husky Stadium then dropping No. 11 Oregon State on a rainy night in Corvallis, Oregon.

Finally, the Huskies moved off of the No. 5 spot to 4th in the nation where they sat for just one week before beating Washington State in the Apple Cup.

November was truly to be remembered beating two ranked teams on the road.  The average margin of victory was 5.5 points.

Washington faces No. 5 Oregon in the Pac-12 Conference Championship Friday at 5 PM on the Pac-12 Network.
