The Washington Huskies have landed their second commitment in 2 days with the pledge of defensive back Rahsjon Duncan. The 3-star defensive back selected UW over other Power 4 players: UCLA, Arizona State, Washington State, California, Arizona, Minnesota, Stanford and Utah.
Playing McClymonds High School in Oakland, Duncan becomes the 6th defensive back for Washington.
“Duncan is essentially a 4-star defensive back,” said RealDawg’s Trevor Mueller. “He’s not afraid to stick his nose in on running plays but he’s fluidity is that of a cornerback.”
Listed at 6-1 and 186 pounds, his junior season defensively he had 5 pass breakups, 3 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles. On the other side of the ball he had 794 receiving yards including 7 TDs on 38 receptions.
“His stats would look a whole lot better if teams were to target him more,” Mueller noted. “He reminds me of another corner from that same school that played at Washington–Marcus Peters.”
Washington has recruited a lot of speed and Duncan fits that mold, running a 10.8 seconds in the 100 meters. As a sophomore and junior he won the Oakland Section of the CIF track championships in the 100 and 200 meter events.
Ultimately, Duncan’s decision came down to UCLA and Washington with UW pulling him away from the Golden Bear state.
He becomes the 20th commit in a top 20 class in the country on 247Sports and 6th in the Big 10.
