The University of Washington has received the commitment from Western Michigan defensive lineman Anterio Thompson.
Thompson is the third addition in this window’s transfer class and the first transfer on the defensive side of the ball.
The Huskies’ focus this off season has predominantly been on to the offensive and defense lines through the Transfer Portal. Its first two commits were in the offensive line in Geirean Hatchett and Carver Willis.
Thompson began his collegiate career at Iowa Western Community College before transferring to Iowa where he would make an impact on special teams blocking two punts in seven games for the Hawkeyes.
In 2024 Thompson chose to transfer again, this time to Western Michigan where he became a staple on the Broncos’ d-line. Thompson had 34 tackles, 1 sack, and 2 pass deflections in the 2024 season. Five of those came in Western Michigan’s bowl game loss.
At 6’3″ 293lbs Thompson will be a fresh face with great explosion and plenty of upside potential for an interior defensive line group that is looking to take a step forward.
