The Pac-12 is making a big change to the football championship game.
Starting this season, the two teams with the highest conference winning percentages, regardless of division will face each other in the championship game.
In previous seasons, the winner of the north division would face the winner of the south division.
The result of this change would have resulted in 5 matchup differences in the last 11 Pac-12 Championship games according to the Pac-12.
Washington has won Pac-12 Championships in 2016 and 2018.
