Michigan State starting QB Payton Thorne has entered the Transfer Portal.
Confirmed that Michigan State quarterback Payton Thorne is in the transfer portal. He’s a grad transfer & will be eligible immediately.
Today is the last day to enter the transfer portal for non grad transfers, but doesn’t mean they have to make a decision on a new school today.

A separate report out East Lansing also has Michigan State receiver Keon Coleman, set to enter portal
They connected four times against the Huskies for scores. The first was a 7-yard pass in the second quarter after the Huskies had built a 22-0 lead.
Late in the game with 5:17 remaining in the 4th quarter, the duo scored on a 33-yard pass play. Additionally, in both instances they connected for two-point conversions.
Thorne went 30 of 42 for 323 yards, 3 TDs and an interception. Coleman torched the Huskies for 9 receptions for 116 yards and the two touchdowns.
The move to the portal by Thorne may clear the way for Katin Houser to take over as the stater to face the Huskies September 16 in East Lansing.
Houser, was a high school teammate of former MSU receiver and current Husky Germie Bernard at Liberty High School in Las Vegas. Houser transferred to St. John Bosco in California for his senior year, heavily considered Washington before selecting the Spartans.
