La Lumiere School 5-star center, Isaiah Stewart announced tonight that he will be attending the University of Washington, which is a major pick up for Mike Hopkins and the Huskies.
Stewart, who’s 6-9, 245 is listed as a center right now and will play the power four in college — he is projected as a 2020 first-round draft pick right now.
With a strong sense for defense, he fits in well with Mike Hopkin’s system, and he chose the Huskies over 41 other schools; including Duke, Kentucky, and Syracuse.
“I’m a big relationship guy…me and Coach Hop go way back”, Stewart said on his choice of Washington, “It changed a lot when (Coach Hop) took the job at Washington…he wanted to go out west and start his own legacy.”
He said Coach Hopkins said, “Come here, be the guy.”
