Former Washington Husky tight end Caden Jumper has told RealDawg.com that he will be transferring to Murray State, in Kentucky.
Jumper announced that he was entering the Transfer Portal in January and visited FCS Murray State.
He will swap out purple and gold for blue and gold. Huskies for Racers. Sailgating in the Fall for Madness in March.
And $5.00 a gallon gas prices for $2.85 and apartment rent for $500 a month.
While his Washington bio simply reads: “Saw his first UW game action in Washington’s win over Colorado … entered the NCAA transfer portal following the 2022 season.”, it doesn’t speak to the his work-ethic and desire to win.
Coming out of Eatonville, Washington, Jumper was one of the more intriguing prospects in Washington’s 2021 recruiting class.
Although he was recruited as a tight end he was more of a Swiss Army Knife in high school. In 2019 he was named to the Associated Press 2A all-state as an all-purpose player in 2019, as a junior.
And then the pandemic took away much of his senior campaign.
At 6-3 and 254 pounds, he could both pass and run, he just couldn’t run out of bounds.
”My dad didn’t like me to run out of bounds,” Jumper said. “I got a lot of yards after contact.”
Part of that was due to opponents not wanting anything to do with him late in games.
His physicality was a very big reason the previous coaching staff liked him as an H-back type of blocking tight end.
However, with a more pass-oriented offense Jumper decided to seek greener pastures—in the Blue Grass State.
The city of Murray sits in the western part of Kentucky just miles north of Tennessee and about two hours from Nashville.
Now down to 235, the extremely versatile Jumper will lookk to help a Racer offense that struggled to put points in the board last season.
Jumper will have 3 years of eligibility remaining as he works his Masters in Leadership.
