Class of 2024 quarterback commit Austin Mack has announced that he has re-classified to the class of 2023, and he will enroll at the University of Washington this Fall.
in other words, that means that he will forgo his senior year of high school.
It was a foregone conclusion that this is what the 6-6, 210 signal-caller hinted at in his commitment video, but now it is official.
When Mac committed, he became Washington’s second QB pledge for the 2024 recruiting class, joining Garfield high school’s EJ Caminong.
With Sam Huard’s departure, Michael Penix’s return for 2023 and no quarterback signed for 2022 and 2023, this move added much needed depth with a third scholarship quarterback for the 2023 football season.
Here’s an overview of Washington’s QB situation:
Senior—Michael Penix
Junior—Dylan Morris
Freshman—Austin Mack
2024–EJ Caminong
